Frequently asked questions
Why do I need to share my bank statement electronically?
Your account history determines whether you can use instalment payment. Like banks, our instalment partner runs an assessment: instalments cannot be offered responsibly without knowing your financial situation. Without sharing your statement, instalment payment is not available.
What details do I need to share my bank statement?
It varies by bank; usually your account number and online banking login. You never give your passwords to us, only to your own bank: during the process you are redirected to your bank's website, where you identify yourself and allow your account history to be shared.
Can't I just upload a statement downloaded from online banking?
That is not possible. The law allows you to share your statement electronically over an encrypted, audited channel, so you don't have to upload unencrypted files and the decision is fully automatic and instant. They see the same data as a bank does from a 3-month statement when you apply for a loan.
Is this process secure?
Yes. Electronic statement sharing is based on EU law and supervised by the Central Bank of Hungary. Banks must give third parties access to their customers' account data when the customer consents.
If I enter my online banking details, can they log in to my account?
No. You give your banking details only to your own bank, and you only consent to your statement being viewed; they have no access to anything else.
